Precision Manufacturing for Defense Technology – EMAG at MSPO 2026

MSPO is the largest defense trade fair in Central and Eastern Europe. From September 8 to 11, 2026, leading representatives of the defense industry, military delegations, and procurement officials from around the world will gather in Kielce, Poland. At Booth 4-C08 in Hall 4, EMAG will present proven manufacturing solutions for the production of safety-critical components. The spectrum ranges from the machining of 155-mm artillery shells and the electrochemical rifling of gun barrels to the modular production of rifle barrels with the highest repeatability.

We look forward to your visit!

Manufacturing solutions for ammunition, barrels, and tubes – all from a single source

EMAG USC 850 universal lathe for machining 155-mm artillery shells
The EMAG USC 850 performs machining of 155-mm artillery shell casings with a 45° slant bed and hydraulic tailstock. The robust design ensures maximum dimensional accuracy for demanding defense industry workpieces.

USC 850 – Precision lathe for machining 155-mm artillery shells

The USC 850 universal lathe is specifically designed for the external and internal machining of 155-mm artillery projectile casings. Its generous work area allows for a maximum turning diameter of 700 mm. In addition, the stable 45° slant bed design minimizes vibrations during machining, ensuring dimensional accuracy even when machining thin-walled, long shells. A hydraulic tailstock and a steady rest reliably stabilize the workpiece along its entire length, enabling turning, drilling, and milling in a single setup. Customized automation solutions allow the USC 850 to be used for both small and large batches— —a decisive advantage for flexible ammunition production.

EMAG ECM PO 3000 IP system for no-wear rifling of gun barrels up to 9 m in length
The EMAG PO 3000 IP performs electrochemical machining of gun barrels—without tool wear and without thermal effects on the edge zones. Tubes up to 9,000 mm in length and 63 mm in I/D are profiled with the highest repeatability.

PO 3000 IP – ECM rifling machine for gun barrels

The PO 3000 IP from EMAG ECM is an electrochemical machining rifling machine that can be used to finish gun barrels with a rifled profile with virtually no mechanical tool wear. The process is suitable for I/Ds up to 63 mm with barrel lengths up to 9,000 mm, covering a wide range of applications from air defense and infantry systems to helicopter armament. A key advantage over machining or forming processes: Since there is no mechanical contact between the tool and the workpiece, tool wear and heat input into the edge zone are minimal. Even high-strength, heat-treated alloys can be machined without restrictions and without additional straightening operations. The process time is significantly shorter than with conventional broaching.

EMAG ECM PI machine with rifling module for the parallel production of up to eight rifle barrels
EMAG ECM’s modular PI machines perform machining on up to eight rifle barrels simultaneously. The rifling module produces precision internal geometries electrochemically—quickly, with no-wear, and with high repeatability for large production runs.

ECM Rifling – Modular PI machines for the cost-effective production of rifle barrels

With the ECM rifling process based on modular PI machines, EMAG ECM offers a scalable solution for the high-volume production of rifle and pistol barrels. The central element is an interchangeable rifling module, which is designed as a two or eight-station module depending on production volume: This allows the machining of up to eight barrels with lengths ranging from 50 to 800 mm in parallel in a single operation. The tool cathode electrochemically creates the desired internal profile—with high repeatability and without any tool wear. The system supports polygonal, progressive, and classic standard rifling geometries as well as multi-radial profiles. Changing the cathode between different calibers is quick and easy, which significantly reduces setup time during a product changeover.
