Highest precision and productivity for demanding machining requirements
Stable machine base body as the basis for high-performance machining
An outstanding feature of this universal lathe is its stable machine structure. The machine base is designed in a 45° inclined bed construction, which not only guarantees exceptionally high static and dynamic rigidity, but also ensures optimum vibration damping. By using high-quality, stress-relieved gray cast iron, the machine minimizes manufacturing deviations caused by deformation and ensures consistent machining results over the long term. This design is complemented by generously dimensioned roller recirculating guides, which enable precise and low-wear movement of the axes.
Powerful main spindle for maximum chip capacity
The main spindle of the USC 850 is designed for maximum performance and precision. It is driven by a belt drive.
With a continuous power rating of 22 kW (30-minute duty cycle: 30 kW), the spindle delivers the necessary power. For even higher cutting performance, a 30-kW spindle (30-minute duty cycle: 37 kW) with a two-stage gear ratio is available as an alternative.
Another key quality feature of the spindle unit is its high-precision bearing system. The cylindrical roller bearing ensures outstanding rigidity and precise concentricity—even under maximum load. Thanks to precise assembly, dynamic balancing, and optimized running-in procedures, the spindle achieves concentricity accuracies in the micrometer range.

Versatile turret
The USC 850 universal lathe is equipped with a BMT75 turret, which enables efficient complete-machining of complex workpieces. Optionally, the turret can be configured for powered tools.
The powered tools achieve speeds of up to 3,000 rpm with a drive power of 5 kW. This allows not only turning but also a wide range of milling and drilling operations with the highest precision. A BMT75 interface is used as the tool holder.
The internal coolant supply, which is fed directly through the turret, is particularly noteworthy. This ensures a targeted cooling system at the cutting edge and improves both the tool life and the surface quality of the machined workpieces. The robust design of the turret in conjunction with precision indexing enables even heavy rough-machining and finishing operations to be carried out with high dimensional accuracy. A hydraulic clamping system ensures exact positioning even with high cutting forces.

Tailstock and steady rests - maximum stability for long workpieces
The USC 850 is equipped with a robust hydraulic tailstock that ensures reliable workpiece support. The quill has a diameter of 150 mm and a stroke of 200 mm. The center point is held by an MK5 taper.
The machine can be supplemented with a hydraulic steady rests for machining particularly long or thin-walled workpieces. This offers clamping ranges from 30 to 245 mm (alternatively from 45 to 310 mm) in diameter and enables secure support even with critical workpiece geometries. The tailstock is operated either via the CNC program or manually using a foot switch. The hydraulic clamping forces can be precisely adjusted via adjustable control elements and are displayed digitally.
The USC 850 universal lathe impresses with its combination of high machining precision, robust design and versatile application options. It is the ideal solution for companies that require an economical and reliable lathe for demanding machining tasks.
